    2. Rosemary Miller
    3. Hello Cable Listers: We have had many new members join lately. I have sent them the URL for the Cable List, to read the archived messages. I also asked them to write to us to tell us which Cables they are researching. The branch I, and some others are researching, originally settled in Somerset Co., PA in 1732. They were Philip and Maria (Brady) Cable. For you researchers who have been researching a long time, have you made any discoveries, like there seem to be some Cables from different areas of the country, but they don't seem to "match up" to your lines. If you haven't already, Please write to us, and tell us who you are researching, and where they were from. By the way, did anyone every see a Cable Coat-of-Arms, which someone requested information on? I never did, but would be interested in knowing about it. Rosemary Miller Johnstown, PA

    2. In the 1880 census, there is a Elizabeth Cable, age 17 (born in Indiana) living in Prairie Township, Randolph County, MO. She is the daughter of Michael and Catherine Cable. If you have any information on this family, please send it. Thanks, Christine Cable

    3. Hi Judith and List: Our family line is John Cable m. Maria Callihan Is this your line? Hi Rosemary, You ask if this was my line. No, I desc. from a Solomon Cable, b. 17 Sep 1760 (where?) and d. 15 July 1833 Scioto Co., Ohio. The dates come from a family Bible, but wish the Bible had also given at least the state or country he was born in. I suspect, judging from the very early census that he may have at least lived in Beaver Co., PA., then made his way down into what became Ohio Co., (W) Va., and then on into Ohio. Feel sure Solomon was married twice, but only the name of his second (?) wife Elizabeth is known, but not her maiden name. His known children were: Adam m. Sarah Shope; Mary (Polly) m. David Wolf; Samuel m. Catherine Holmes; Michael (mine) m. Betsy Rawlins; Jonathan m. Harriet Lindsey & (2) Rebecca Price; Jacob m. Elizabeth Holmes (2) Sary Pringle (3) Elizabeth ?Bennett; Matilda m. Elijah Rawlins ; Philip S. m. Mary Smith (2) Asia Aldrich; and possibly Eleanor and George. If anyone recognizes this Cable bunch, I would welcome hearing from you. I have a large misc. Cable collection due to researching my Cable lineage. I didn't know if they came from the New England clan or the German clan, so collected all that I came across in my research. I would like to find a home for this collection, and willing to split up the two clan's, just for minimal reimbursement of copy cost and postage to mail it to its new home. Anybody want to adopt them? (smiles). Judi of Indiana

    3. Hi Everyone, A few of you were interested in how Granny Reese fits in with the Cables. I don't know if this will be of any help, but this is what I have in my misc. Cable collection. Married: Elizabeth Reese; b. 1810 Somerset Co., Shady Twp., Pa.; d. 1886 Indiana Co., PA; Buried Johnstown Cem. They had 17 children that I am aware of: Mary m.
