Hi Gang, First I want to say Atta Boy Steverino, How Eloquent, could not, have said it better myself, I have been an professional genealogist for quite some time and I am not threatened by anyone putting information on the web pages, It just speeds up my work, The people who hire me are too busy to do their own or have other reasons. Here is a little true story I want to share. I was sitting with some other professional genealogist at a luncheon and one genealogist made the remark that the new genealogist were in a hurry and never paid their dues, when a very famous genealogist who,s name I will not mention as she has gone to her maker now, popped up and said and I quote "The new genealogist do not have to pay their dues, Because YOU who have been around so long WROTE these wonderful books on how to do it all, for which YOU were paid handsomely I might add, So DO NOT blame them if they know what it took you years to learn. You taught them Well. " I also want to share an address for a site that sells out of print books, as they have an surname index to the rare old Cherokee genealogy book that is out of print and they are reprinting it, this site also has the 1835 Cherokee census posted and a Cherokee genealogy tutorial posted that shows you how to conduct Cherokee genealogy research. This site also has a great number of books of civil war and western books, and some great excerpts from the books. here is the address http://members.aol.com/rarebk Sorry I have not added much to the list , but have been down with an virus and at school for 3 days, hope to contribute more this week. I have a couple of very nice genealogy poems I would like to share, Would anyone be offended if I sent then on this site?????? If so speak or forever hold your peace. Always Abigail.
