    2. BRUTAL MURDER AT LANCHA PLANA About noon on Tuesday word came that an old lady, a resident of that town had been found dead in her bed with her throat cut. She was Mrs. Phoebe Williams who lived with her grandson, Chester Maker. Mrs. Williams was 76 and Chester was 17. She was discovered by a neighbor, Tom Sheridan and his nephew,Clarence Crail. They had heard the cows bellowing to be milked and went to see what was wrong. At first the grandson was suspected, but his body was found 1/2 mile from the home with the back of his head crushed. DEATH - Mrs. Jane Woolfork in Pine Grove on 5/20/1905. Native of Vermont, born 1/4/1815. Her maiden name was Jane Allen and was 20 yrs. old when she married Charles W. Woolfork. She was the mother of nine. Survived by: Mrs. C.C. Lutrell of Pine Grove, Mrs. Susan Huey of Volcano, Mrs. Elizabeth Hanford of Los Angeles, Mrs. Jane Woodkurn of Sacramento. DEATH - B.R. Prince died in Stockton on Wednesday. Leaves a daughter Miss Tessie Prince. Native of Italy, aged 76 (I don't know if man or woman and no other relatives listed.) A horse hitched to an awning of the Bridge Saloon was frightened when the awning started flapping, pulled back and pulled out the post. Moral - don't hitch your horses to insecure posts. A couple that came to Jackson to be married were prevented from doing so by her parents. Tony Buchi and Bina Lepetich had came to Jackson to marry after stopping in San Andreas for a license. Her parents had called on the phone to ask for his arrest. Bina is only 16. Tony was charged with abduction. WEDDING - John Knuckey wed Laura Tuson on Wednesday The ceremony was performed by the father of the bride who is also the Reverend at St. Augustine's Episcopal church. WEDDING - Elmer Dufrene to Jane Buddell, yesterday Marriage License issued to: David Robinson & Alma M. Froelich, both of Jackson. Caleb Chinn & Louisa J. Langdon, both of Jackson. MARRIAGE - Caleb Chinn & Louisa J. Langdon on 6/15/1905 MARRIAGE - David Robison & Alma M. Froelich on 6/14/1905 BORN - Mr. & Mrs. B. Airoldi of Jackson on 6/11/1905, a daughter. BORN - Mr. & Mrs. Giovannosi, Jackson on 6/14/1905, (I forgot to write down son or daughter, I will look it up. BORN - Mr. & Mrs. Attilie on 6/10/1905, a daughter. The public schools close today for summer vacation. Ad - Cassinelli has a show window full of soap artistically displayed. Look at it. Work on Mr. & Mrs. White's new building, adjoining the Enterprise Stable on Main St. was began in earnest on Monday morning by A. H. Kublman, the contractor. The building will be pushed forward to completion as rapidly as possibly. DEATH - Willis Gibbons, 10 years old, nephew of US Marshall, J. H. Shine drowned in a reservoir in Sonora on Sunday (no other relatives or where he was from). W. W. Mason and his wife of Valley Spring were arrested in Stockton last week for murder of Jose Nandino, near Valley Spring. The murder happened in October 1903. Garbarini & Arata had a coat of paint put on exterior of their tin shop on the corner of Broadway & Water Streets.
