Electra was the name of the PG&E power house and the housing maintained there for PG&E workers. It is at the end of Electra Road. I used to go to school with an Oneto girl whose father worked there, also dated Bob Means whose father worked there. Just before the bridge, you turn left and go all the way to the end. I also swam in the river and my Dad caught clams there. My brother caught his first trout in the river. That's also where I learned that you cannot dive into a river the way you dive into a swimming pool. Once, we got to ride the rail road car that was used to deliver supplies to build the Power House. It was a rail type thing with no apparent brakes. Scared to death. Must have been 4 or 5. That hill is straight down. The ride does not follow the road, it comes down from the top of the mountain that was there before they built the access road. Judy, do I know you? When did you swim in the river? I graduated from Jackson Elementary in 1957.
