I am really getting carried away with my posts this evening. There are lots of old photos of the Hotel and it was (and still could be) a very nice place. It is a very old hotel so the rooms are tiny and some of them don't have their own bathing facilities. My Grandmother also cleaned at the National Hotel and told me of watching the "girls" go down the alley to the Doctor's office once a week for their checks ups. Jackson was a wild place until 1955 and Pat Brown decided to do some thing about it. Then there was the infamous plaque....... Sorry folks but it is part of the history of the area, and it could be the reason that no one will talk about certain ancestors. The Last Days of the Late Great State of California makes for good reading, including the fictional part about the Argonaut after the "Big One". Lee in Silver Springs, NV
