When I was a teen, I worked several days cleaning rooms in the National Hotel. Then my Mom found out and made me quit because only "bad" people went there. I think, to her, anyone who did not have a regular house was suspect. And this was the 50's and you have to know the history of Jackson at that time. She did let me clean several times at the Broadway Hotel because the lady who managed it was very nice and always said 'hi' to her.
