I am trying to locate records of my grandparents or great grandparents. This is all I know so far. My father was Henry Hodges, born in Sutter Creek (I think) in 1906. His mother was Adah (Higgins) Hodges (note different spelling of Adah) his father was George Hodges. I do not know the names of either set of great grandparents. I believe George had a sister named Grace Griffin who lived in Sutter Creek until her death approximately 30 or more years ago. Adah Higgins had a sister named Mamie, another sister named Sadie, and a brother (I think was named John). My father Henry had a brother named Cyril, a sister named Grace and I believe a brother named George who died at birth. I only wish I had paid more attention to the family history when I was younger. I know that Adah and George divorced (which must have been pretty scandalous at this time) and Adah moved to Sacramento. I do not know when or where George died, Adah died in 1958. I also believe that we are related to the Bawdens. I had heard that my relatives came here for the gold rush. I believe from either Wales or England.
