Representing and reforming were in the air. City Ordinance was passed to raise the tone of "the Street." ...all houses of ill-fame with in the limits of this city shall keep their fron doors closed or have good and sufficient blinds or screens in front thereof...fine of not less than $50.00." Passed August 17, 1853 James P. Clough, Pres. of Council pg 21 In a list of Superintendents of Schools of Tuolumne County.. J. P.
