May 27, 1882, Vol. 23, No. 37 DIED.In Ione City, May 23, 1882, Michael Mullen, a native of Ireland, aged about 41 years. Last Saturday evening while Mr. J. D. Stoken, of Volcano, was exhibiting a pistol to a customer, unconscious that it had been loaded, it accidentallly went off, the ball striking his brother-in -law, Mr. Victor Baker in the head, causing death to follow in about 40 minutes afterward.
