Calaveras Prospect, May 10, 1924 Mrs. Catherine Margaret (Peirano) Vicini, a pioneer resident of Sutter Creek died at her home in that city Wednesday morning. The deceased was as esteemed citizen of Amador County for the past fifty-two years and during the years spent in that county she won the love of a legion of friends. The deceased was born in the province of Genoa, Italy, September 21, 1816 and came with her parents to Philadelphia in 1855. The family later returned to Italy where they remained until 1859 when she came with her father to Robinson's Ferry, now known as Melones, Calaveras county. While there she met GB VICINI whome she married at San Andreas, June 17, 1863. Her husband in those years was engaged in mining and for several years couple lived at Angeles Camp. In 1872 Mr. and Mrs. Vicini moved to Sutter Creek where they have resided ever since. The husband first engaged in the mercantile business and of late years most of his interests were concentrated in stock raising. Mr. and Mrs. Vicini have lived an ideal married life and have shown the greatest affection for each other. The hearts of the people of the county go out to the afflicted relatives. Surviving her are: a husband, GB VICINI, of Sutter Creek; two sons, Henry J. VICINI of Drytown and Judge CP VICINI of Jackson; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Jean Hehn
