I spent a day of my vacation this past week in Jackson, county seat of Amador county, California. It's hard to believe there are only two people working in that office. They are Larry Cenotto (Archivist) and Michelle Wilson (Archives Assistant). But what a pair of archivists! Both are very hard working, dedicated individuals! They bent over backwards for me and I'm sure they would do the same for you. What a beautiful place! Loaded with charm and history. While there, I went to the Shenandoah Valley Cemetery and took pictures of my great-great-grandfather's tombstone and the tombstones of several of his children. If you do visit, please note the archives office is closed Monday and Tuesday and the actual location (not the mailing address which is above) is 42 Summit St., Jackson, CA.
