Tom, I can't seem to get past California with my Waddell's. Here is what I know my 3rd great grandfather was Isaac Waddell. Baltimore 1823. Died in California 1893. His wife was Mercy B. Waddell. Ohio 1831 and she died in Cal., 1903. His son (My 2nd Great Grandfather) was George E. Waddell. 9-9-1862. Cal., 1-6-1935. And his wife was Susan Vogan Waddell. 2-16-1867 and she died 4-18-1951. My great grandfather wad Edwin Hamilton Waddell ( Paul Amick Sr. First Cousin ) and he died in about 63-64 in San Francisco Cal., he was married to Mary Thornton Redmond about 1915 in the S.F. Bay area. She died in 1969. Her son James Waddell died a few years ago. Isaac and George live and died in the Ione area of California along with my Amick family members. Susan Vogan-Waddell (My mothers, mothers side) and my 2nd great grandmother on my mothers father side were sisters, Lillian Vogan-Amick. So the Amicks and Waddells were cousins, then there first born Suzette Waddell and Paul Amick Jr., got married. Discovering that 5 years ago explained alot to me as far as my mothers illness. I do know that George and Susan lived in Visalia and that he was the first Mayor of Exeter, where ever that is. And he established the High School there and he is known as the Father of Exeter. And that he had another son named George Waddell who live in Lindsey and that there is a Waddell Street and Building there. All I know about Susan is that her father was a Sheriff in the Gold Country near Jackson California and was killed bringing in a Desperado. I am stilling searching for information on the Vogans. Kathy
