I found this in Louis Rasmussen's Ship Passenger Arrivals in SF, Vol. 4: The Oregon arrived in SF 29 Dec 1852 from Panama, so the passengers apparently to Panama from NY then overland. Passengers included A. Chichizola and L. Bianchetti ( but no family was listed as being with him). The ship's list is full of Amador names, e.g. Solari, Molinari (misspellled), Bacigalupo (several spellings), Arata ... I also found Rocco Caminetti's arrival in SF in June 1852 on the Columbus, again overland, with the name spelled R. Carmenite, but the date's consistent with the NDGW entry on him. (Later in life, Rocco became a 49er who had gone around the horn). The ship also had some "Just" on it, including J. Just and boy, so I'm wondering if it's the Giusto brothers. I've found the books at the D.C. National Archives and the San Diego main library, so suspect most major CA libraries and National Archives would have them.
