    3. Ron...found a newspaper clipping regarding some of your family. This looks like could have come from an Amador County newspaper. This reference is where located in Pioneer Roster Vol53 page 39s Date of paper July 19, 1977 Werly-McKenzie-Stirnaman Family Hold Reunion at B. H. Mace Sr. Ranch-Home The home of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Mace Sr. on Highway 88, was the scene on Saturday, of a reunion of the Werly-McKenzie-Stirnaman family-descendants and relatives by marriage of Thomas C. and Mary Ann McKenzie, old time residents of the Pioneer district. Mr. McKenzie was at one time postmaster and storekeeper at the town of Defender when it was a thriving mining community over fifty years ago. He also served Volcano as constable at a later date. Thomas C. McKenzie came to Volcano in the 1850's from Nova Scotia. Mary Ann Werly came in 1852 from Kentucky via Missouri. The Stirnaman branch of the family also arrived in Amador in the 1850's. Remember at one time I said that my grandmother had referred to the Stirnamans as relatives? This may have been a sorta kinda relation. I know my grandmother's sister was married to a McKenzie so maybe that's how it fits. Thought of you when I found this so thought I'd send it on. You might want to check out the Pioneer Roster index at http://www.compuology.com/cpl/ndgw.htm & see if they have any information on your family. It's only $2.00 for a lookup. And, if not, you could submit your family information so that others coming along later could find it. Jackie in California kimmee@volcano.net
