    1. [CAAMADOR] James Monroe Bridges
    2. Hello list, I am new to this group and have high hopes. I am looking for more information about my great grandfather. His name was James Monroe Bridges. He was born in Arkansas Sept 25, 1879 and died June 6, 1938 in Jackson, Amador County, CA. His occupation was listed as merchant. He is buried in plot 419 in the cemetery there, but has no marker or headstone. I am trying to dig up any information on him. Unfortunately on the death information there is only unknown for his parents. I don't even know if he had remarried at the time of his death. Emma Toon had been one wife of his, but she stayed back in AZ. He had been married and had 3 children in Arkansas as well, but I know nothing more than that. No names or anything. His daughter was Sarah Jane Bridges and I believe she was in the Jackson area as well. I hear she married into a family with the Isbell surname, though I have found nothing about her. I hear she had about 12 children though, and more than one marriage, though I have found nothing to confirm this. My great grandfather apparently owned a clothing store in Jackson, but no one remembers the name or when he owned it. I was wondering if there might be a way to find a will or property records or something that may list more names. With his having died in 1938, there aren't many around that remember him. Any information would be great to help me out. I don't even have his mother's maiden name, which makes tracing the tree rather difficult.
