This was a public works project that was required by the Public Resources Code and the Health and Safety Code to remove all known and unknown graves. According to law (don't laugh), EBMUD must keep the records. Additionally, these were like COUNTY PUBLIC cemeteries and the board of supervisors of Amador County would also have been required to keep the relocation records. Don't take NO for an answer. If they give you a hard time, please contact Assemblyman Anthony Pescetti's office at the Capitol in Sacramento. You can look him up on the California State Assembly Website.
