My search of records showed 2 kinds of forms in my ancestors town of Locana: The older form had a line with(for example) figlio di :Giacomo di Giovanni, e fu Maria Elisabetta Perelli de professione: contadina domiciliata in: Locana e d : Maria Teresa fu Bartolomeo Noacono, e fu Maria Luisa Giachini de professione: contadina domiciliata in: Locana This line with "e d" was confusing to me. It was explained that the line with figlio tells us the child's father's name is Giacomo, son of Giovanni and Maria Elisabetta. The child's mother is Maria Teresa, daughter of Bartolomeo and Maria, which gives info on another generation preceding. The newer baptismal records(1865+) have the line "figlio d Giovanni Varda del morte Giacovanni" "e della Maria Teresa Noascono del fu Bartolomeo" which means the child listed is son of Giovanni Varda(whose father is the deceased Giovanni) and Maria Teresa Noascono(whose father is Bartolomeo).
