Does anyone know of James Monroe Bridges that lived in Amador City and ran the Texaco station? I've got his obit on my webpage, but am trying to find out more about his life as he was my great grandfather. Maybe a city directory would list where he lived? He died June 6, 1938. Posted on: Amador County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ca/Amador/343 Surname: Peyton, Thomas, Trembath ------------------------- My grandfather's sister, Katie Peyton, married Joseph H. Thomas, Jr. I'm not sure where they were married, but my grandfather, Thomas Stanley Peyton, was born in Amador City in 1891, and it looks as though his family arrived in Amador County from Ohio around 1880. Seems like a match, eh?

Posted on: Amador County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ca/Amador/342 Surname: Hall, King, Stewart ------------------------- My grandmother's maiden name was STEWART. She had a sister by the name of Sarah Ellen "Eleanor" Stewart who married a Clarence or Clarance KING. Ellen STEWART and Clarence KING had a daughter by the name of Myrtle KING. She married a S.E. James. The old "KING RANCH" still exists as far as I know in or near Sutter Creek in Amadore County. The ranch is well known in those parts as it was a large apple orchard and once was a feeding station during the early cattle drives. I don't know the names of Myrtle King's brothers or sisters but I am quite sure that since Myrtle was born in 1899 that your dad is probably a brother to Myrtle. If that is the case, then your dad's parents would be Clare(a)ce King and Sarah Ellen "Eleanor" Stewart. Best Regards, Ron Young w6mht@msn.com

Posted on: Amador County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ca/Amador/337 Surname: Chichizola ------------------------- My paternal grandfather was a Chichizola. He lived in the New York/Brooklyn area in the late 1800s and early 1900s, returning to Italy about 1906. He married my grandmother, a Fossati. After they returned to Italy, they lived in Pontegiacomo, a village of Mezzanego, Italy--this being my grandmother Fossati's birthplace and family residence. I understand Pontegiacomo is about 26 miles east of Genoa, Italy. However, this was not the birthplace of my grandfather. A contact I made said some records of her Chichizola family were found in a church in Zoagli, Italy (close to Portfino/Genoa), but I haven't made a contact yet that connects my Chichizola family. If you find where they come from, please Email me. Maybe our families would be related. Thanks. Virginia

I have been talking with Terry Ratto in Daly City. She has provided me with a wealth of information on my great grandfather Gervasio Ratto and his family. She informed me that she had spoken with you and that you are related to the Amador County (Jackson) CA Rattos. My great grandmother Mary Ratto was born in Jackson. When I spoke with Terry yesterday she said that you are related to Dena Sanguinetti who was my great grandmother's sister. If this is correct I have several pictures of Dena, as well as the other brothers and sisters. Would love to see what you've found on that portion of the family and to share what I've found. Send me an e-mail. Thanks Mary
