Just want to make sure everyone knows about this. You can go to your local public library and order books like this through Interlibrary Loan. Sometimes there is a minimal charge. Far less expensive than purchasing a book that you may need little more than one name or date from. Hi...there are still people by the name of Kay in Calaveras County & one Kays in Amador County. I have an unnamed family picture done by W. Kay in Jackson. Most of this group of relatives I'm tracking in Calaveras County but this picture was taken (I'm guessing) before 1900. Oh Great One In The Sky, Art! Thank you for everything you are doing each day! More information passes each day . . . from Lookup . . . to Lookup . . . to Lookup . . . . Recently, there was a wedding in my family in California. At least two persons attended who are aware of the Amador County ancestral Mother Lode you have produced on the website: http://www/rootsweb.com/~caamador I hope that others in our family may become involved as a result. This is contagious. Steve
WOW! Do we?! Yes! Try http://www.rootsweb.com/~caamador That will do it. Jean, we'd also like to know what you think of it . . . after you've had a chance to see it. Don't get lost though. You'll notice that Art has our new database of the historic Amador County Dispatch (newspaper) up and running. You can choose your own user name & password to get into it. Don't forget to check out the Pioneer Stories & Photo Album too. And, check out the section on Lookups! These are folks who are ready & willing to look information up for you from a variety of sources. No charge! Well, sometimes it does help to send a self-addressed stamped envelope just out of courtesy if they are sending you something in snail-mail. HAVE FUN! Steve p.s. I just needed someone like you to come along this afternoon to stir me up and get me excited all over again! Thanks! -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Tuesday, June 01, 1999 1:46 PM Subject: [CAAMADOR-L] History >Hi, Does Amador County have a web page? > >Jean > > >==== CAAMADOR Mailing List ==== >Amador County, California CAGenWeb >http://www.rootsweb.com/~caamador/ >

Art, I really don't want the book. It sounds like they might not have been "friends", nor would be . . . with the people who were controlling Amador County when our ancestors were living. Hi all, I have found the surname Morrish in the Amador Dispatch. How can I order the film? I know I would have to wait. DIane Hall
You counted?!!? Steve you have too much time on your hands! The papers better get there QUICK! 963!?! That is a lot. Being one of those people who has asked for a look up and received wonderful information, I too want to include a big thank you to every one of you who has volunteered your time to the list. THANK YOU! Carolyn
Does anyone have an e-mail address for Leslie McLaughlin? Steve
Betty, We will be watching for anything on your Ginochio. If I see it, I will personally make you a good photocopy of it and send it promptly. You will have to furnish me with a snail-mail address. These Lookups are GREAT, don't you think? (Hi Jackie.) I need some help from someone out there. Maybe you, Jackie? Is there a copy of "A Few of Our Friends In The Amador County Cemeteries" in the Jackson Library or in the California State Library, or anywhere else? You never know. And to think, all these lookups save such a tremendous amount of labor! Steve p.s. I am currently working closely with a large band of vigilantes (over 250 people) who are interested in conducting an Amador county-wide cemetery survey. This is a thrilling break-through. Subtle, huh Jackie?
Do you realize just how many lookups have been requested on our mailing list over the past 2 months? From published books, censuses, and directories? I counted 963! Congratulations to all those who have so willingly served. We appreciate all of your effort, generosity and kindness. Steve
Hi, Does Amador County have a web page? Jean
