2. Well, his death certificate listed unknown for the parents. Though I am pretty sure that I found them through the 1880 Arkansas census. Turns out we went by the last name of Bridgers at that time. 3. Hi, His death cert should list his mother's maiden name. I just got one from San Francisco for my great grandmother and I learned her mother, who I only knew before as Mary, wife of John Fields, was actually Mary Devlin. The death cert I have is from 1930. It shows birthplaces of mother and father city or town and state or country. On my ggmothers it only has the country(ies) of birth of her parents(Ireland), not a town (rats!) but perhap if their birth was US it might say both. It also lists length of residence of the decedent in CA as well as how long in US if of foreign birth, plus the decedents date and place of birth. It also says the marital status of the decedent as well as their spouse's name if married, widowed or divorced. That ought to be able to answer many of your questions Good luck, Mary On Tue, 1 Aug 2000 17:03:39 EDT IttyBkShp@aol.com writes: > Hello list, I am new to this group and have high hopes. 1. [CAAMADOR] James Monroe Bridges
    2. Hello list, I am new to this group and have high hopes. I am looking for more information about my great grandfather. His name was James Monroe Bridges. He was born in Arkansas Sept 25, 1879 and died June 6, 1938 in Jackson, Amador County, CA. His occupation was listed as merchant. He is buried in plot 419 in the cemetery there, but has no marker or headstone. I am trying to dig up any information on him. Unfortunately on the death information there is only unknown for his parents. I don't even know if he had remarried at the time of his death. Emma Toon had been one wife of his, but she stayed back in AZ. He had been married and had 3 children in Arkansas as well, but I know nothing more than that. No names or anything. His daughter was Sarah Jane Bridges and I believe she was in the Jackson area as well. I hear she married into a family with the Isbell surname, though I have found nothing about her. I hear she had about 12 children though, and more than one marriage, though I have found nothing to confirm this. My great grandfather apparently owned a clothing store in Jackson, but no one remembers the name or when he owned it. I was wondering if there might be a way to find a will or property records or something that may list more names. With his having died in 1938, there aren't many around that remember him. Any information would be great to help me out. I don't even have his mother's maiden name, which makes tracing the tree rather difficult. Sincerely, Donna IttyBkShp@aol.com http://patterson.family.homepag e.com

Coppi, Pietro dod October 1899 at the Central Eureka Mine in Amador County. (The obit was listed in the October 27, 1899; Volume 41, Issue 8) Marriage Records: I don't know if these are available or not - My Great Grandmother Clorinda Ferrari Coppi married Nocesos Priami between 1899 and 1902. My grandmother Lena Priami was baptized at Immaculate Conception in Sutter Creek in April 1903. Is it safe to assume that they were married at the same church they baptized thier child?? Could there be any records of marriage at the church. Also looking for a marriage record for Maria Coppi to Serafino Menchini between 1904 and 1909. Thier first two children were born in Amador county and Maria lived there, so I'm assuming they were married there. Darlene In search of Surnames: Coppi, Priami, Ferrari, White, French, McCarty, Menchini, Tuvo, Wallack, Byrne, Johnson, Markey, Martelanz. ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! 2. Has anyone tried posting to the data base lately. I have been trying to post 1906 (I already did 1905). After I post I go back to check my postings. I select at the top left hand corner which item to correct. The message comes up "Select an Item," but I did select an item. I did all 1905 with no problems and always proofread my postings. I am not going to post anymore until I can correct my mistakes. I sent Steve an e-mail, but I haven't heard from him. Donna caltrlrdr@aol.com
