Susanna This is really gets very interesting. 1) I checked the Oakland City Directory for 1917 and found a Mary FARRELL, living at 2701 Myrtle, a widow of Thomas A. 2) Check in 1917 for a Thomas FARRELL, found a few but none of them had any thing to do with plumber/water works inspector. 3) Checked later Directories and the same story. 4) Now this is where starts to get interesting, found the death notice for Mary S(hanley) FARRELL, she died July 31, 1917, was the widow Thomas A., the mother of Olivia C., and the late Thomas E, Mary E. and Lucy A. FARRELL. She was a native of Country (Lettrim?) Ireland, age 86, to be buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Oakland. 5) So having nothing better to do when to the cemetery, and looked her up and asked who else was in the same plot. There is only one other person, a Olivia C. FARRELL, who died on Feb. 28, 1931, was a native of Ohio, age 73 years 4 months. Now it get when and checked out the tombstone and they have the wrong date of death for Mary, they show July 12, 1917. If you want I can check death notice for Olivia, and the one for Thomas, just to see who he is? This is a real strange one. :-) Hope this helps.
