Hi Janet, I know for myself I use both the Alameda and the San Francisco County Rootsweb lists. In my mind, even though the Bay separates the counties, that the Bay Area is the Bay Area, which includes SF and Alameda. So, I guess it never really occurred to me that it was strange to see some SF queries on the Alameda List. My g-grandmother's family lived in Alameda County since the 1850s. But when she and some of her sisters married, they moved to San Fran, while other siblings stayed in Alameda (or Emeryville) so I'm continuously going back and forth.... Cecile
