Martha: Henry (or Heinrich) LOTZ and wife Geesche (or Lanrap). They lived at 1374 W. 4th St., Livermore, CA. The address was changed in the 1950s to 1932 4th St. Henry died 23 Sep 1899 so he isn't in the 1900 census. They immigrated from Schleswig-Holstein in 1871. For more interest, the house was owned by Magnus HANSEN, "a cousin." My father's Aunt Laura, listed in the census below, later owned the house and my father inherited it from her. My brother and I grew up in this same house. After we moved to the east coast, the house was sold to someone who wanted to put a business on the site and he had the house torn down and the garden bulldozed even though the city had an easement on the property for its historical value and for the uniqueness of the vegetation in the garden. Magnes, Geesche, Henry, and Laura are all buried in Roselawn cemetery in Livermore. Lena, my grandmother, is buried with Grandpa, Capt. John Daniel McLeod, in Moutainview Cemetary in Oakland, CA.
