Emery, the founder of Emeryville, CA was a close relative of my husband's grandfather, George F. Emery (1859-1927) who came to Oakland, California from Maine. Can anyone tell me where Joseph Emery came from and what was his wife's name? All the information I have on him comes from a booklet that was printed for the 33rd anniversary of Emeryville in 1929 and reprinted in 1996 for the town's centennial. Are there any descendants of Joseph Emery still living in the Bay area?
