Hi Fred, Well, the Hardin Gilbert listed in the SSDI did not die in CA according to CADI unless it was under a different first or last name. There were no Hardin Gilberts dying in CA 1940-94. It could be that his death benefits went to the son that you found and that's why the SSDI shows Berkeley. Hope the gentleman will provide you with further info.
