Helmut: Did Edwin die in the *city* of Alameda or the *county* of Alameda? chances are that either way his obit would have been in the Oakland Tribune. Alameda is a smaller city that abuts Oakland, the county seat (actually, it's across an estuary) but the Tribune was still the major paper for the area in the 70s. --Laurel
