Hi Fred, You're more likely to find someone to volunteer to search for an obituary if you have the actual date of death, not just a month. I'd be happy to check for his actual death date from CADI, the CA Death Index. The CADI listing will tell you the county he actually died in, his spouse's initials if a spouse survived him, and the state certificate number for ordering his death certificate. Are you positve that the listing in the SSDI is your Hardin Gilbert because you're sure that the birthdate listed is correct? Once you're sure of the county location of death you can visit one of these sites and see if that county has a volunteer that will search for an obituary for you: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnraogk/californ.htm http://posom.com/hl/usa/ca.shtml http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/6995/ca72298.html http://members.aol.com/sjhcamp/index.html If you need clarification of any point, please include the previous message in your response.
