This is a bit complicated because she was less than 9 months from the date of her parents marriage. I have been unable to find a birth record for her , or a marriage record for her mother Ella McPherson and father R. Lulen Travis. How did people usually hide this in the era of the 1890's. Where would they have gone to keep it secret... They both lived in Oakland at the time. It would seem that even a civil marriage must have been recorded somewhere. Ora never had a birth certificate either. Any help?
