Hi from a list newbie, A lot of my family settled in the Berkeley area in the beginning of the 1900's, and I'm trying to track down their information... First of all, my paternal grandfather, Robert Yool, was born in Berkeley in 1925 (date unknown). I'd like to find out more inforamtion about his parents, David Yool (died 1933, born unknown) and Blanche Naverine (born in San Jose, CA, remarried between 1933 and 1937). My paternal grandmother is also from the Berkeley area. Dorothy Gustafson was born in Berkeley in 1927 (date unknown), and I'd like more information on her parents, as well. Her parents were John Arthur Gustafon and Edla Finne(y) who were Swede Finns (from FInland but Swedish). I have no idea when they emigrated to the US from Finland, but they supposedly married in Telluride, CO, in 1914 (but couldn't find the record there) and had a child, Grant Gustafon, in Telluride in 1916. They moved to Berkeley in "about" 1920, and bore my grandmother in 1927. Also... my grandparents married in 1945. I don't know their place of marriage -- it may or may not be in Alameda County. Again, their names are Robert Yool and Dorothy Gustafson. If anyone can help me fill in the pieces here, I'd be greatly appreciative!
