I'm not related to this person. I am the Membership Secretary & Registrar of the Kansas Society, Sons of the American Revolution (KSSSAR. Ellinwood Woodman was one of the society's earlier members and I am trying to update the society's records. There are a couple of inconsistencies with this record that make me question whether he is the same person that I am searching for. The CDI says he was born Nov. 23, 1866. His SAR application clearly says May 26, 1867. The CDI says he was born in Kansas. His SAR application AND the 1930 census of Oakland say he was born in Illinois, specifically Chicago, IL. Now the first name of Ellinwood has got to be rare, so rare in fact that one may be inclined to say that the above records simply have to pertain to one person. However, I can easily envision a scenario where two could have existed, especially if they were first cousins, both named after the maiden name of a grandmother. I plan to post on the Contra Costa board to see if anyone can find an obit for this man. Thanks again. Timothy E.
