In the Tuesday, June 26,1962, edition of the Bremerton Sun. Joseph Hout claimed by long Illness. A retired Puget Sound sheetmetal worker and shop planning estimator, Joseph W. Hout, 65, died yesterday in Harrison Memorial hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Hout born Dec 15,1896, in Ashland,Wis., came to Bremerton when he was 17, and began working at PSNS. He retired in 1954. Mr. Hout a member of Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church, was for several years business agent for the local Sheetmetal Workers Union. Mr. Hout is survived by his wife, Ilo (Nell)Hout, at the home; a step-daughter, Mrs. Mrs. Alice Burton,Bremerton; a sister Mrs. George Botsford, Seattle; three brothers, Frank of Oakland,Calif; Ellie of Santa Clara,Calif; and Leo of Minneapolis; numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial park. Lewis chapel is in charge of arrangements. and the second one.... In the Saturday,May 12,1962, edition of the Bremerton Sun. Mrs. Katherine H. Spaeth, wife of a pioneer,Brmerton businessman, died early this morning in Harrison Memorial hospital following a heart attack. She had been hosptalized since Wednesday, when she was rushed to the hospital from her home at 826 Chester Ave. A daughter said Mrs. Spaeth did not regain conciousness. The wife of William H.. Spaeth, she and her husband came to Bremerton on their honeymoon, in 1905 and stayed. Until retiring three years ago. Mr. Spaeth was head of Spaeth transfer Co. for 47 years. She was born in Emporia,Pa; moving to Ashland,Wis, when she was an infant, reared and educated in Ashland, where she met and was married to W.G. Spaeth. In their early days here, Mrs. Spaeth was one of the most active members of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was a charter member of the Young Lady's institute and remained a member of the Altar society for 55 years. The couple reared four daughters here. They are Mrs. harry Irwin, Mrs. Anthony Pirog and Mrs. Robert Hamlin, all of Bremerton and Mrs. James McGuire of Long Island,N.Y. She also is survived by foure brothers, Ellie Hout of Santa Clara,Calif; Joe Hout of Bremerton,Frank Hout of Oakland and Leo Hout of Minneapolis, a sister Mrs. Daisy Potsford of Seattle; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Rosary will be said at 8.00 Sunday at Miller Reynolds funeral home with requiem mass at 9.30 Monday morning at Lady Star of the Sea Church.
