McNamara in an 1880 (or before) directory of Alameda County Oakland and or Berkeley. He worked for the Oakland Water Works in the early 1880s, but his death record cert. shows him as having been in Oakland/ Berkeley by 1874???? Only documentation I have of him in California is his marriage in 1884. He is not listed in the 1880 census of Alameda County, California. (could have been missed?? OR wasn't there yet???)
