    1. [CAALAMED] Fentons Creamery,
    2. Hi George Once again, I was unsubscrbed and didnt realize it, dont know how long its been. I re-subscribed just in time to read you post about Fenton's.I will have to find the link to the archives because I knew something was up when I havent seen any of these great posts from you. Im sure Ive missed others, I always look forward to your posts! Fenton's....Oh does it bring back great memories to me, I went to St. Leo's School ( 7th grade) across the street from Fenton's and spent many pleasureable times there, and more dishes of ice cream..cones, sundaes,...than I can count! Iam so glad you posted this..Im planning a trip to San Francisco sometimes this summer and will go to Piedmont Avenue, (I like Piedmont Ave.)) of course will go to Berkeley too,but maybe Ill look into making my trip to Pidemont Ave. on a Fenton's tour day ! I remember there was a big problem (cant remember what right now) several years back when Fentons was sold to a bunch of lawyers, I believe, I know for certain one owner was an attorney named Jay Hollander in Oakland, For awhile I thought it was closed down. I havent been on Piedmont Avenue in quite some time and if I remember correctly Fentons was closed when we went, (because I didnt get an ice cream!) so didnt know what actually became of Fentons, its great to know its still open..Another place close to Fentons that may be of interest to some is the cemetery at the end of Piedmont Ave..I forget the name right now, It has very old graves, some famous some infamous as well, one that comes to mind is Elizabeth Short, or "The Black Dahlia" Thanks for posting this George, you brought a smile to my face with memories of many summer days at Fentons, and of my 7th grade boyfriend buying me an ice cream after school ! LOL I have to send this to my friend who spent most of those summer days, rainy days, any days at Fentons with me, over 40 years ago, Cris Atwater California

    3. Cris The cemetery is Mountain View, yes Elizabeth Short is there, the only thing do not ask in the office where her grave is, for her family has told the office not to give out that information. The interesting thing I might of gone to school with some of either her nephews or nieces, for they lived in Berkeley at one time, and are about my age.
