Wilfred Found four articles in four different papers on the shooting, some of the details are different. But the facts are these, he was shot at four times and hit three times, by a George W. Dunham, a ex-convict, Thomas died four hours after being shot, the shooting took place outside of a saloon in Oakland. Now where the facts are different, not sure if George, wanted to borrow a dollar or Thomas owed him a dollar, three papers say George, wanted to borrow the dollar, one said that Thomas owed him a dollar, in one paper a woman was there but left at the time of the shooting, no the mention of her by the other papers. Thomas was lather, and was from Fresno and left a widow, there and he was 23 years old. Not sure what happened to the George, as he ran away, not sure if he was caught and when tor trial or not.
