    2. Hello, sorry for answering so late. This is esp. for Sharon, George and Delbert, but cert. also for others... Thank you for your efforts. Below I quoted some of your postings and put some new questions. First I will explain the relationship. I cant tell the exact dates, as I am at the moment not at home where most of my datas are. My grandgrandmother was born 1877 in SF as Alice Beswick Tyson. Her father was from Schleswig-Holstein: Andrew Johnson Tyson (Andreas Jan Thaysen). He came in the 1860s to California with an uncle of him, also called Andrew Tyson, who died in the 1890s somewhere in Nevada, Nebraska, NewMexico or so, running a saloon etc. Andrew J Tyson worked with an George Bill in SF as an Butcher (corner Powell/Clay street). He married Ida Frances Crandell. She came from RI. Her father was Samuel (B.T/F) Crandall/ Crandell/ Crandel). We have letters that her father lived in the veterans home in Yountville, the 1900/1910? Census states that he lived with his Brother Benjamin, as far as I can remeber, in Oakland. Samuel was born ca 1836 in Providence. He had two brothers (Thomas (1841?, Benjamin 184?) and a sister Hattie. Samuel was married to Mary Gartside. When they lived in CA they were divorced already. Mary lived with her daughter. Ida and Andrew were also divorced. Ida married a David B/D Barclay. They lived in LA, SF, Oakland...? Andrew married an Emma Widmann, they had an other daughter Ohmie, but he died ca 1893. Before he died he sent his eldest daughter Alice back to what was know Germany. There she married in 1898 and became 6 children. The letters I have quote that her mother+grandmother in CA where not happy with that. I guess there was no further contact between them in the future. 1.Alice B. Tyson in Germany Alice Thaysen, later Lauritzen. (1977-1961/3) 2.Andrew J Tyson (1854?-1893?) 3.Ida F. Crandall, Tyson, Barclay...(1856-1912???) 4.Samuel Crandall, Crandell, Crandel (1836?-190?) 5.Mary Gart(h)side (183?-?) The brothers of Samuel, Thomas and Benjamin, they called themselve Crandell: http://www.cagenweb.com/archives/Biographies/marin/mar-clau.htm "I checked the records for Mt. View Cemetery, for the Crandall's and found Ben, he is in plot 45 grave 69. Also found the grave plot for Thomas and Eliza, they are in plot 12 grave 70. along with three children, a daughter Susan Matt, who died at the age of 5 months 26 days, on Feb 1, 1879, a stillborn child who died Sept 17, 1881 and a son Chester Smith Crandall, who died at the age of 76 years on Oct 1, 1946. Now as to why we could not find a obit for Thomas, Delbert, is he died May 22, 1914 not 1916.;-) Also found a B. C. for a child of Ben and Jernske (Vronman ?) Crandall, who was born Aug 6, 1878. George " I did not knew , that there were these two little Babies, I only knew Chester, Harry, Harriet/Hatttie. Thomas middle name was B. an other source says Baldwin Ripley http://www.cagenweb.com/marin/grtreg-c.html Benjamin´s wife name I know was not the same of this wife you quoted. My Benjamin is said to have had a girl Called Florence. "CRANDELL, Ida age: 56 yrs county: 70 date: 21 January 1925" the age would fit to my Ida,if this Ida would have ahd died in 1912. Is this date correct? CRANDELL, Benjamin age: 46 yrs county: 60 (Alameda) date: 24 May 1909 CRANDELL, Eliza F. age: 75 yrs county: 60 date: 11 Sept 1917 They were prob. not the ones I searched, ? "I have obit for Ben and Eliza, please send me your address so I can mail them to you." Were they married to eachother? Would you mind transcribing it for me and send it via email? "For I checked Oakland City Directory for the 1915, and Elizabeth, is listed as a widow of Thomas, so he most of died in 1914 or early 1915" What else is quoted in the directory? "I checked the records for Mt. Are there any further notices like birth/death dates of eliza etc... Is there an Harry A. Crandell too? Is there an directory about Benjamins work? Is it possible to find out whether Chester and Harry were married? Thank you for all! M.Lewerenz Germany -- GMX im TV ... Die Gedanken sind frei ... Schon gesehen?
