Well Cochran was born abt 1871 in Scotland, and emmigrated abt 1889-90. Joseph Alexander was born 1905, so any information after that date would be great. I know that Cochran was quite a prominent citizen in Oakland. He ran a Tea, coffee and spices business. He was a Rotarian, and was a local commissioner. He died in 1941. I don't know anything about Joseph's children other than their names, but am puzzling about whether I may have missed a generation, as I looked up Scott McCarren the golfer and he was born in 1965. The list of Joseph's children was given in his obituary, and one was Scott A. MCarren of Carmel. Joseph died in 1997, so if Scott the golfer was his son Joseph must have been quite old when he was born, but I'm sure he's related, as Scott had a brother called Norman, and Cochran had a son called Norman.
