I presume you must be referring to Cochran MCarron. This is very confusing. The Cochran I have been reseaching died in 1941 and was born in Scotland. He was my Grandfather's brother. However I do know that there was another Cochran living and working in Oakland around about the same time. I have always thought they might be related as My Gt Grandfather Joseph was born in Ireland, and I know he had a brother called David born 1847, and his father's name was Cochran. I believe that the grave in Oakland could be that of my Gt Grandfather's brothers, and that the Cochran I Have been researching was their nephew. I hope that makes sense.
