He was a man of many interests and accomplishments. His greatest accomplishment was raising six daughters following the death of his beloved wife, Marjorie Sinclair in 1949. He leaves five of those daughters (Cynthia Joyce Goble preceded him in death in 1968) to carry on the Goble legacy: Linda Bishop, Barbara Burns, Gwendolyn Rogers, Sally Goble and JoAnn Williams with her husband, David. Bruce Goble was the proud grandfather of Laura, John, Daryl, Dana, Michele, Michael, Laverne and Joseph. He was also blessed with five greatgrandchildren, Danny, Ryan, Chamaine, Brandon and Jordan Isabella. Mr. Goble graduated from Commerce High School in San Francisco and attended the University of San Francisco. He was a trained firefighter and one of his numerous careers was with the Berkeley Fire Department. His interests were vast and diverse, and he shared them with those he loved, including his extended family, the staff and residents of the Chaparral House in Berkeley which was home to him for the past 18 years. He was an avid gardener with a love for God's creatures, great and small and all things bright and beautiful, especially Yomemite National Park where he and his brother, Joe spent memoriable time in their youth. He was an unparalleled fan of SF Giants and 49ers. He will be celebrating their victories this year just as we will celebrate his life this week. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. with the Rosary recitation at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 1998 at Ellis-Olson Mortuary, 727 San Pablo Ave., Albany. A funeral Mass will be officiate by Father William O'Donnell at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 1640 Addison, Berkeley, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 1998 with interment immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery in San Pablo.
