Charlesetta Talbert was born about 1901 in Barry Co. MO. In a history book of Early Barry County it says that Thomas Talbert was with the University of MO 1914-1917. He served as Executive Secretary in the U. S. Food & Drug Administration for MO during WWI, 1917-1919. From Sept to Dec. 1919 was with the University of California. From 1920 "until he returned to the University of MO" he was at Kansas State College. He and Mary Allene had three children, John David, Patricia Ann and Frances Jane. It doesn't say when or where he and Mary A. were married but I'm guessing since she was from Livermore they were married there. My thought was, I think I already said, Charlesetta may have met someone there and married and stayed there. She doesn't seem to show up again in MO after age 17, in 1918. A court record in Barry Co. MO lists her guardian then (1918) as I. B. Gaskins. He was another uncle. Charlesetta's parents were Charles L. Talbert and Allie May Gaskins. Allie M! ay died in 1911 in Barry Co. So as I was going to the Bancroft Library, I thought I would check to see what class he was in, I could not find him in the "Golden Book of California" that listed every one who want to a school in the U. C. system, all to 1936. I could find him listed but did find the following people with the last name of CLEVERDON, that had gone to U.C. Aida Louise, was a member of the class of 1927, but did not graduated, was later married to a Randolph C. Collier, they were living in Yreka. In the 1924 Oakland City Directory, Richard., was married to Aida L., could she of been married to him. Helen, graduated Student, 1928, later Mrs. Street, she was listed as being died by 1936. Could not find what she got her degree in. Harry F. class of 1930, but he he started in 1925 and was listed to Feb 1928, and then came back in Feb 1930. Mary, class of 1933, but did not graduated. Found the following in the 1924 Oakland City Directory: Richard H. wife Aida L., William wife Mary A. and William JR., all insurance Brokers, and living 2623 Benvenue in Berkeley. Did not find them in the 1926 In 1928 found the following of them listed: Harry F., student Mary, student Mary A. Groth (b.1910), and lived in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Mads' father, also named Mads Thomsen GROTH (1825-1901), was from Rise Parish, Aeroskobing, Svendborg, Denmark, and was the older brother of my g-grandmother, Anne Marie Groth NIELSEN (1869-1910). I would like to confirm and share info on Mads' ancestors, and am specifically looking for any photos of Mads (senior) and his parents and siblings, including Anne. Thanks!! Her mother's maiden name, if you know it, might also be of value. The 1930 census (MO Boone Columbia) indicates that Thomas TALBERT (age 50) was married at the age of 36, and Mary (age 42) was married at the age of 28, suggesting that they married circa 1915-1916. Also, Thomas registered for the WWI draft card (1918) in Barry County, MO, and shows his wife as Mary Allene, indicating that they were married before September 1918. The 1930 census says that their son John was born in MO, but the 1920 census (KS Riley Manhattan) says that 5-month-old John was born in CA (which would mean that Mary was in CA circa July 1919). I am not sure when John H. or his wife Helen died, only know they were in the bay area when son John R. lost his arm riding the trains. I was only told he was between 10 and 13 years old when the accident happened. John R. and Alice (Lillian) Maxwell had four sons born between 1900 and 1915 in Alameda County.
