    2. Terri
    3. Hi Cris - Hope you got/get resolution on the problem with vitalrec. A thought ---- sometimes "webtv" doesn't work with some sites -- I've found that in several places. As sites update, they end up eliminating webtv users. Just yesterday, I went to ebay and was met with the announcement that they're no longer webtv friendly. 'Course, I have an older version of webtv and not at all sure what the MSNTV 2 product can do. Stay well -- Terri in WA

    3. Cris... Click here: http://vitalrec.com/ (I cut and pasted, so this should work. Maybe the "/" needed to be at the end. When you get to the page, scroll down a little until you see the state names and click on "California". On this next page you will see "County Vital Records Office"; click there. On this page click "Alameda". You will now be on the page that gives the address and fees. I could have given you the URL page right off which is http://vitalrec.com/cacounties1.html#Alameda , but I like to have people know how to do it, in case they want to look in another state and/or county. I noticed that it didn't give the fee for the divorce. You might have to write them and ask, unless you want to phone them. I'd do that for you, if they were open today. Message me privately tomorrow if you want me to do that for you. I have unlimited calling, so won't cost me anything extra. Please let me know, if the URL works for you. ~Blessings, Bev ----- Original Message ----- From: <crazyangel25@webtv.net> To: <caalamed@rootsweb.com> Cc: <caalamed@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, June 16, 2007 10:20 PM Subject: Re: [CAALAMED] Help with marriage -- c. 1946 > Hi Bev and Terri, > I read your posts and the link you gave of vitalrec..Ive tried this > several times in the past and must be doing something wrong so am hopng > you can tell me what it is . 2. Cat Nielsen
    3. If you are looking for a viatl record in Alameda County I would suggest that you use the County's web site and order online or via mail using the site info. When I go into their office to order a record I either receive the record then and there, or it is mailed to me and I receive it within a week or two. I've heard from some people that they ordered records via the mail and got them back promptly. http://www.acgov.org/ Cat Nielsen

    1. [CAALAMED] help with marriage -
    2. Terri
    3. WOW Mary!! What a surprise!! And thank you so much. My folks and I didn't talk much about their important events -- sadly, by the time I had the interest, Dad had died in 1966 and Mom wasn't very forthcoming with family info. To find them married in FL is a REAL surprise!!! For some reason, I'd always figured they met and married in Alameda, CA. Do know they met there --- they must've "lived in sin" :)) until they got to FL. As with most genealogy news that's not what one expects -- I'm quite surprised!!! Thanks again, so much ---- Stay well -- Terri

I was born Sept. 1947, so it's definitely between those two years. My father was stationed at Alameda, in the Navy. 1. Re: [CAALAMED] your LINCOLN HIGHWAY at POLLOCK PINES research
    2. Mary you are wonderful!!! I think the picture of the Pine Lodge may have been what was the Sportsman Lodge, my cousin told me that several years ago someone had bought it. I havent looked at all the pictures yet just the first one, cant wait to look at the rest of them..and yes it may have been FRISK motel, I just remember the name as a kid so thought it was FRITZ! I rememebr there was a hamburger stand a door or two awayI think it was called Bills drive- in. I had no idea the old Highwat 50 was renamed Lincoln Highway..and if theres an ELLEDGE there they are definiely related.I will check that out also. Thank you, thank you, thank you... Cris

    2. Mary Thiele Fobian
    3. Cris, Could it be FRISK Motel that you're looking for? I don't find any matches at google's news archives for FRITZ Motel, but there are about 35 for FRISK Motel. Consider calling the Placerville library's reference librarian (do a google search for the phone number) and inquire about what city directories or telephone directories they may have for the early 1960s, or what other resources they may have to determine addresses. US Public Records Index shows an ELLEDGE living at 5000 Golden St in Pollock Pines; perhaps there's a connection.
