    3. I have, for the rest of December, a copy of the Alameda County Great Register of 1890.This lists Surname, Given name, age, birthplace, residence, registration date and whether naturalized ONLY, there is no other data. For any other information you would have to look at the actual application books, which I believe are in the archives of California State University at Hayward. I will be happy to do lookups, but to keep my sanity, there have to be some rules. 1) The information covers Alameda county for 1890 ONLY. 2) I will look up three names per request. 3) I will only do lookups for list members, so please request through the list. I will reply through the list. (This is because once my lookup offer got cross-posted and I was getting requests night and day from all over the world!) 4) I will try to respond to requests right away, but I do have another life, so please be patient. 3. Hi list, I'm brand new to this list. Does anyone out there have a way to look up an obituary or a burial? My great grandmother, Lavina died 15 sept 1940 in Alemeda Co.,Calif. I'm trying to find out where she was buried, and the name of any relatives that might be listed. I just sent after her death certificate, but that will probably take months to get back. An obituary would probably list some family members. Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Betty Stinecipher

    3. CA Marriage Index: Quite a few Mary Wrights married in CA that might have been the correct age. Those that have aka and another name means that this is probably the second marriage but you can't tell if WRIGHT is the maiden name from the listing; marriage records are searcheable at the county level by volunteers or can be ordered from the state at $12.00 each. None of them showed up in Alameda county but maybe 1949-1959 CAMI would give you some more names Mary G. Wright, 39 aka Mary G. Hamilton Robert Laub, 42 Sacramento (sorry, didn't write the date down) #14732 Mary L. Wright, 47 William F. Lanier, 51 November 28, 1971 Los Angeles, 141526 Mary L. Wright, 54 aka Mary Shea Frank Santelli, 56 Los Angeles, March 3, 1978, 19863 Mary H. Wright, 55 aka Mary Dorr Gordon Gordon, 65 Los Angeles, March 16, 1980 29399 Mary S. Wright, 52 Robert V. Sigl, 51 Riverside, Feb. 14, 1976, 15201 Mary Wright, 38 James March 28 Los Angeles, Aug. 4, 1963, 71631 Mary A. Wright, 41 Fred E. Haynes, 40 March 20, 1964, Imperial, 19140 I've cc'd a few researchers - one does CAMI lookups 1949-59 and the other two do recorder office lookups in Sacramento and Riverside. Maybe by a process of elimination you can find a marriage record on Mary. Hope the DMV contact works also. Colleen PS: The location of marraige listed above is the COUNTY. To determine the CITY of death you will need to order the marriagecertificate. The number following the date of each listing is the state reference number for ordering the certificate from the state.
