Is there another library that might have more newspaper microfilms on obituaries listed for Alameda County? If by chance, a researcher is doing work with microfilm lookups and see these names. Would you let me know which newspaper and library or school you found them at? I will reinburse you for finding the names. Th two I would like to know about are 1. Harold Harrington d. 27 Jan 1968 and 2. Ethel Harrington d. 28 Sep 1948 both died in Alameda County, California Sincerely, Carol (Douglas Co.,OR)

I'm sure glad to get that 1900 census listing for Hans and Marie. Now, I have names for all the children. How did you ever think to look under the name Nasen? I had tried Nisson, Nissan, and Nisen. How do you get all this information? I'm using Heritage Quest for census lookups most of the time and even putting in the exact info. you sent me I don't get any hits for George McNamara in Oregon. What am I doing wrong? (The grandson of Marie's that I contacted last year was Richard W. he was 6 months old in the 1930 census listing for Harold W Nissen. I guess that's just a trivial point but I thought it was interesting.) Thanks so much. Marne Packer [email protected]

I looked at the website for the funeral home. As they have outsourced all their old funeral records, they now charge $50 to obtain records!!! Terribly outrageous price :) Perhaps you can answer a question for me. The Lill obit that I posted recently didn't give the place of burial. Can you tell me what cemeteries would have been in the area of Alameda city that were commonly used in 1937? This Robert Lill belonged to a Mason lodge in San Francisco and had an address there in 1924, however obit said he died in Alameda. Do you have any suggestions on how I might locate his place of burial? I'm trying to avoid that nasty $50 fee, especially since I live in Canada and have exchange to pay as well. regards, Colleen Lill
