Hi, My great grandparents were married at a church in Fruitvale in January 1904. I have a copy of their marriage record that was filed with City Hall, but I am wondering whether they would have had to have filled out a marriage application/license prior to getting married. Were these required at that time? If so, does anyone know how I would go about obtaining a copy? Thanks, Jim

There you can search the birth index and marriage index on cds. They are the best resource for records etc. Hes probably buried at Mountain View in Oakland. You can try calling them. Its the biggest cemetery in Alameda County. Chapel of the Chimes is also part of it, incase he was creamated. good luck!

They were fisherman. Rosemary married Andrew G. Mosley[Deligiannis was given surname] and they moved to San Diego as did the Stanley family.This was after the earthquake in 1906. Andrew and his wife and children moved back to Northern California in the late thirties or early fourties. They either went to Santa Maria/Vallejo or Oakland. I would like to locate descendants of Andy Stanley.
