    3. Hello Eileen, I suggest you write the Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society. (LAGS). They have a large active group of members and one of them should have the information you seek. They also have a website with cemetery listings that you may want to look through. Just google the society's name and it should come up. You can obtain a death certificate for Henry through the Alameda County courthouse in Oakland. This would give you an exact date of his death and may lead to an obituary. Anyone can get a death certificate for someone that died in California. Go to http://www.vitalrec.com for address, fee, etc. California turned over the death certificates to the individual counties about 3 years ago. Don't leave any stones unturned! Good luck, Bev in Calif. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eileen Gillette" <geminiemg@yahoo.com> To: <CAALAMED-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 31, 2007 7:13 AM Subject: [CAALAMED] Livermore Asylum > Hi List, > I know I have talked to the list recently about searching for the > Livermore Asylum. 3. It's been awhile since I ordered birth or death certs from California. When I did, though, I thought they didn't take an inordinate amount of time responding by mail considering what a big state California is and how many requests they must get all the time (I went through the Vital Statistics office in Sarcramento). I live in Honolulu, so walking in isn't an option for me.
