    3. Sacramento German Genealogy Society P. O. Box 660061 Sacramento CA 95866-0081 OK FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Upcoming meetings of the Sacramento German Genealogy Society The next meeting of the Sacramento German Genealogy Society will be on Tuesday, January 27, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church on Lusk Drive at St. Mark’s Way in Sacramento. Speaker Paul F. C. Mueller will present “Tips You Can Use for Reading German Church and Civil Records.” Mueller is well known to SGGS members as the man who sits at the back of the hall before and after every meeting, helping researchers with tough family history problems. He also leads the study group, which meets on the second floor of St. Mark’s Education Building at 9:30 a.m. on the same dates as the regular meetings. Paul’s advice is always down-to-earth and clearly explained. At the February 24 meeting, Gary Horlacher, A. G., will present “Strategies for German Research.” At the March 23 meeting, Chuck Knuthson will present “A Family History Treasure: World War I Draft Registration Records.” SGGS will hold a special evening meeting on May 18, to coincide with the National Genealogical Society’s Conference, which will be held in Sacramento May 19 through 22. Entrance to the SGGS monthly meetings is free and visitors are welcome. Guests and members are encouraged to arrive for the meeting by 12:30, to give themselves time to browse the informational tables at the rear of the hall, which feature German genealogy-related books for sale, pedigree charts and other genealogical aids, German reference and library tools and back issues of the society’s quarterly “Der Blumenbaum.” And there are always mentors in attendance who share your interests and are eagerly awaiting a chance to discuss German genealogy and compare notes on research. If you have questions about the society, e-mail President Charles V. Knuthson at cknuthson@surewest.net or call him at (916) 782-5704 or contact the society’s website at www.SacGerGenSoc.org.
