PLACER COUNTY GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY PO BOX 7385 AUBURN, CA 95604 (530) 887-2646 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 18, 2003 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AUBURN GENEALOGY CLUB TO MEET The Placer County Genealogical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7PM, Thursday, March 27th in the Beecher Room of the Auburn-Placer County Library, 350 Nevada Street in Auburn. The meeting is open free to the public. The program speaker will be David Dickson. He will be speaking on the subject of "Genealogy of German Speaking Countries." Mr. Dickson has three Degrees from three different institutions of higher learning, in German and English, with postgraduate studies done at UC Davis. He began research of his family as a young boy and has now assisted in publishing three books. The Placer County Genealogical Society has a membership of over 200 individuals and families that have genealogical interests. The group holds a general meeting at the Auburn library site on the fourth Thursday of each month from 7-9PM, and features a program speaker on various genealogical subjects. The group also offers two specialty day groups. One that studies various topics of member interest, which meets at the library on the first Tuesday of the month, and the other, the Family Tree Maker User Group, reviews genealogy computer program subjects, on the second Thursday of the month.
