The meeting is free and open to the public. The program speaker will be Susan Jackman, who will talk on the subject of "Ten Mistakes That May Keep You From Finding Your Ancestors." The Placer County Genealogical Society has a membership of approximately 200 individuals and families that have genealogical interests. The group holds a general meeting at the Auburn library site on the fourth Thursday of each month from 7-9PM, and features a program speaker on various genealogical subjects. The group also offers two specialty day groups. One that studies various topics of member interest, which meets at the library on the first Tuesday of the month, and the other, the Family Tree Maker User Group, reviews genealogy computer program subjects, on the second Thursday of the month.
