PLACER COUNTY GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY PO BOX 7385, AUBURN, CA 95604 (530) 887-2646 www.pcgenes.com/pcgs.html PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - November 9, 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY TO MEET IN AUBURN The Placer County Genealogical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7PM, Monday, November 22nd, in the Beecher Room of the Placer County Library, 350 Nevada Street in Auburn. It should be noted that this is a different day of the month than the group usually meets. The meeting is free and open to the public. The November meeting each year is the annual meeting month. The program will consist of various members making short presentations of details from their research about significant genealogical finds or possessions. Also on the agenda will be the election of officers for 2005. The Placer County Genealogical Society has a membership of over 200 that is made up of individuals and families that have historical and genealogical interests. The group holds a general meeting at the Auburn library site on the fourth Thursday of each month from 7-9PM, and features a program speaker on various genealogical subjects. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the meeting in November is the prior Monday. No meeting is held in December. The group also offers two specialty day groups that meet from 10AM to noon. One, that studies various topics of member interest, meets at the library the second Monday of each month except July, August and December. The other, the Family Tree Maker User Group, reviews genealogy computer program subjects on the second Thursday of the month, and meets at the Latter Day Saints Church, 1255 Bell Road, in Auburn.
