The meeting is free and open to the public. The program speaker this month will be Maria Brower, who speak on the subject "Planning for a Research Trip." For anyone going to the local library to do research, to the Salt Lake City Family History Library, to a place where their ancestors' lived, or sitting in front of their computer, they are going on a research trip. Both in person, or on-line, the preparation to be done prior to the trip or session will determine the trip's success. Brower has been involved with genealogy for 30 years. Se is the founder and past president of the Nevada County Genealogical Society. She specializes in Nevada County and Gold Rush research as well as Missing Heir research. The Placer County Genealogical Society has a membership is made up of individuals and families that have historical and genealogical interests. The group holds a general meeting at the Auburn library site on the fourth Thursday of each month from 7-9PM, and features a program speaker on various genealogical subjects. The group also offers two specialty day groups. One that studies various topics of member interest, which meets at the library on the each month except July, August and December. The other, the Family Tree Maker User Group, reviews genealogy computer program subjects, on the second Thursday of the month, at the Latter Day Saints Church, 1255 Bell Road, in Auburn.
