It then introduces the Browser and Internet to the student. It then gets down to the major topic of Genealogy on the Internet. The discussion of the genealogy process moves into "How does online Genealogy differ from the traditional methods". The course work is on the instructor's web site at www.rader.org/online_genealogy_class_plan.htm With the use of links on this site the course then moves into finding Genealogies already done by using online Library catalogs. Genetic Genealogy is introduced. Free resources available on the internet are covered in workshops. Discussion areas are used to find people who may know about your ancestors. Commercial services are examined in depth. How to use US Census records and which online services are best today? How do they compare? Genealogy software and the hardware to run it, are examined in some detail. If there is time available, the course then moves into U.S. Land Records and how to use them to figure out where your family lived and who their neighbors were.
